January 24, International Day of Education…

January 24, International Day of Education.

In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution proclaiming January 24 as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for bringing global peace and sustainable development.

International Day of Education 2025 will be held under the theme, ‘AI and Education: Human Agency in an Automated World’. The Day encourages reflections on the power of education to equip individuals and communities to navigate, understand, and influence technological advancement.

The right to education is enshrined in article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration calls for free and compulsory elementary education. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), adopted in 1989, goes further to stipulate that countries shall make higher education accessible to all. When it adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015, the international community recognized that education is essential for the success of all 17 of its Goals. SDG 4, in particular, aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030.

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, has decided to dedicate International Education Day 2025 (Friday 24 January) to the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence. UNESCO hosts an event to mark the Day at UN Headquarters in New York, the US.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela.

SOMETHING FOR SENIOR CITIZEN …

Old people are ridiculed when they talk too much, but doctors see it as a blessing : Doctors say that retirees (senior citizens) should talk more because currently there is no way to prevent memory loss. The only way is to talk more. There are at least three benefits of senior citizens talking more.
First:Talking activates the brain, because language and thoughts communicate with each other, especially when speaking quickly, this naturally speeds up thinking and improves memory. Non-verbal senior citizens are more likely to develop memory loss.
Two :- Talking more relieves stress, prevents mental illness and reduces stress. Often keeping everything in the heart without saying anything, feeling suffocated and uncomfortable, therefore, it is better to give adults a chance to talk more.
Three:-Speech exercises the active muscles of the face, exercises the throat, increases the capacity of the lungs, and reduces the hidden dangers of vertigo and deafness, which damage the eyes and ears.
In short:-, As a retiree, that is, a senior citizen, the only way to prevent Alzheimer’s is to talk to and actively interact with as many people as you can. There is no other remedy for this.

Why do Hindus worship idols, when God told us he is everywhere?

*Why do Hindus worship idols, when God told us he is everywhere?*

*Swami Vivekananda once visited the King of Alwar in present day Rajasthan!*

*The King, in an attempt to mock idol worship, told Swamiji, “I’ve no faith in idol worship. How can one worship stone, wood and metal? I believe people are in illusion and just wasting time!”!*

*Swami Vivekananda ji smiled. He asked the King’s assistant to take down a picture of the King that was hanging on the wall!*

*Although confused, the assistant did so. Then Vivekananda ji ordered him, “Spit on the picture!”!*

*The assistant was shocked, and looked at both of them. Vivekananda ji repeated his order again and again, becoming more stern each time!*

*The King was growing angry, and the assistant started trembling!*

*Finally, he cried out, “How can I spit on this? This picture is of our beloved and respected King!”!*

*Vivekananda ji then told him, “The King is sitting in front of you in person. This picture is merely paper – it does not speak, hear, think or move! But still you did not spit, because you see a shadow of your King in it, Spitting on it was like spitting on the King himself!”*

*The King looked at Swami Vivekananda ji and bowed down, clearly understanding what he was referring to!*

*This is the essence of idol worship! God is everywhere, but people want to pray to Him, thank him, ask for favors, offer food, tell stories, bathe Him, play with Him and do what they do in their lives with their children! Creating a human-like idol creates an image of God as a friend & companion, a guide, a protector, a giver, a fellow being and so on!*

*An idol is just a concrete representation, where they find Him! When I look into the eyes of an idol, I do not see stone or metal, but another pair of eyes looking at me assuring me blessings me !*

A Beautiful Message Regarding The Past Generation…

A young man asked his grandfather,
“Grandpa, how did you live in the past without technology . . .
without computers
without drones
without bitcoins
without Internet connection
without TVs
without air conditioners
without cars
without mobile phones?”

Grandpa answered:
“Just as your generation lives today . . .
no prayers,
no compassion,
no respect,
no GMRC,
no real education,
poor personality,
there is no human kindness,
there is no shame,
there is no modesty,
there is no honesty.

We, the people born between the years 1930-1980, were the blessed ones. Our lives are a living proof.”

¶ While playing and riding a bike, we have never worn a helmet.
¶ after school we did our homework ourselves and we always played in meadows until sunset
¶ We played with real friends, not virtual friends.
¶ If we were thirsty, we would drink frim the fountain, from the waterfalls, faucet water, not mineral water.
¶ We never worried and get sick even as we shared the same cup or plate with our friends.
¶ We never gained weight by eating bread and pasta every day.
¶ Nothing happened to our feet despite walking barefoot.
¶ We never used food supplements to stay healthy.
¶ We used to make our own toys and play with them.
¶ Our parents were not rich. They gave us love, not material gifts.
¶ We never had a cell phone, DVD, PSP, game console, Xbox, video games, PC, laptop, internet chat . . . but we had true friends.
¶ We visited our friends without being invited and shared and enjoyed the food with their family.
Parents lived nearby to take advantage of family time.
¶ We may have had black and white photos, but you can find colorful memories in these photos.
¶ We are a unique and the most understanding generation, because we are the last generation that listened to their parents.

And we are also the first ones who were forced to listen to their children.~

We are limited edition.

Take advantage of us. Learn from us. We are a treasure destined to disappear soon.
