Robust Lightning Arresters: Unwavering Protection Against Nature's Fury
Product Overview
Safeguard your critical electrical infrastructure from the devastating effects of lightning strikes and transient overvoltages with our advanced range of Lightning Arresters. Engineered for superior performance and unparalleled reliability, our arresters provide a dedicated low-impedance path to ground, diverting harmful surge currents away from sensitive equipment and ensuring continuous operation and safety.
Designed for utilities, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and renewable energy projects, our lightning arresters are the frontline defense against atmospheric disturbances, minimizing costly downtime, equipment damage, and potential hazards.
Key Features & Benefits
Superior Surge Protection: Utilizes advanced Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) technology for ultra-fast response times (nanoseconds), high energy absorption capabilities, and no follow current, effectively dissipating powerful lightning surges.
High Withstand Voltage: Designed to withstand severe temporary overvoltages (TOV) and provide stable protection across various network conditions.
Low Residual Voltage (Protective Level): Minimizes the voltage stress on protected equipment, ensuring their longevity and performance.
Robust & Durable Construction:
Polymer Housing: Lightweight, hydrophobic, UV-resistant, and explosion-proof, offering excellent tracking and erosion resistance in polluted or harsh environments.
Porcelain Housing (Optional): Available for applications requiring traditional insulation with high mechanical strength and long-term stability.
Versatile Application Range: Available for a wide spectrum of voltage levels (from low voltage to extra-high voltage) and discharge currents, suitable for diverse applications.
Easy Installation & Maintenance: Designed for straightforward installation on poles, substations, and equipment, with minimal maintenance requirements.
Compliance & Standards: Manufactured and rigorously tested to meet or exceed international standards, including IEC 60099-4, IEEE C62.11, and ANSI, guaranteeing quality and performance.
Modular Design (Select Models): Allows for flexibility in configuration and ease of replacement for specific components.
Integrated Disconnector (Optional): For visual indication of arrester failure and automatic disconnection from the system to prevent sustained faults.
How It Works
Our lightning arresters operate on a simple yet highly effective principle:
Normal Operation: Under normal system voltage, the MOV blocks within the arrester present extremely high resistance, acting as an open circuit and allowing current to flow normally through the protected system.
Surge Event: When a lightning strike or switching surge causes the voltage to exceed a predetermined threshold, the MOV blocks rapidly become highly conductive.
Diversion to Ground: This sudden reduction in resistance creates a low-impedance path, diverting the vast majority of the surge current safely to the ground, bypassing the protected equipment.
System Restoration: Once the surge current has passed and the system voltage returns to normal levels, the MOV blocks instantly revert to their high-resistance state, ready for the next event, without drawing any follow current from the power system.
Applications
Our Lightning Arresters are indispensable for protecting a wide range of electrical systems and equipment, including:
Power Transmission Lines: EHV, HV, MV lines
Power Distribution Networks: Overhead and underground distribution systems
Substations: Protecting transformers, switchgear, busbars, and other critical substation apparatus
