a name synonymous with quality and innovation in the food manufacturing industry, is a family-owned company with a rich history dating back to 1976. Originally established as AMBER, the company was founded by Shri Balvinder Pal Singh and Mr. Avninder Mutchall. Their journey began with a vision to create exceptional baked goods, a passion that would drive the company's growth for decades. The first manufacturing plant, a testament to their ambition, was
inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri J. Vengal Rao.
For the past 32 years, BBL has been ded
icated to the art of biscuit making. The initial products were of such high quality that within just two years, in 1978, Amber underwent its first expansion to meet the growing consumer demand. Driven by their commitment to growth and innovation, the two brothers, Balvinder Pal Singh and Avninder Mutchall, decided to expand further, building a brand new factory and installing India’s first 1200 mm wide biscuit production line. This bold move demonstrated their ambition to lead the industry and enhance their manufacturing capabilities.
For two decades, Amber focused on producing a diverse range of biscuits, including cream-filled and cracker varieties. This experience laid the foundation for a significant shift in their business model. Today, BBL is a trusted manufacturing partner, producing biscuits for India’s leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, ITC Sunfeast. BBL's technical expertise was once again put to the test when they successfully mastered the production of Parle's Hide and Seek chocolate chip molded biscuits, a feat previously considered challenging due to India's diverse climate conditions. They successfully produced the chocolate chip biscuit for the first time in India, highlighting their dedication to developing and manufacturing premium products.
BBL is also notable for being the first company in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, to achieve HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest food safety standards.
In 1986, BBL embarked on a diversification strategy, setting their sights on manufacturing ice cream cones. Understanding the importance of quality machinery, they placed an order with the world-renowned Austrian company, M/S. Franz Haas. This strategic move marked a new chapter in BBL’s growth.
Continuing the family legacy, Lakhbir Mutchall, the elder son of Managing Director Mr. Balvinder Pal Singh, joined the business and actively supported its growth and expansion to a new production plant in 1988. His involvement helped steer the company towards further success.
