With the establishment of the Grid Connected Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic Power Plant, consumption of electricity bills can be reduced.

Grid –connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant is based on the plant’s net metering system. The energy produced from the plant can be utilized in place of conventional energy during the day time, and if the energy produced is more than the energy consumed then the surplus energy can be fed into the grid. For this, the bi-directional meter provided by the U P Power Corporation, will not only record the conventional energy, but after the use of the generated solar energy, the surplus energy fed into the grid will also be recorded. Consumers will receive the bill based on net power used at the end of the month by adjusting solar power fed to the grid and at the end of the year, if surplus power from solar plant supplied to the grid by the consumer, the Power Corporation will pay to the consumer the cost of the surplus power at the rate of Rs.2.00 per unit.

• Capacity cannot exceed sanctioned Connected Load approved by Electricity Department.
• Approx. 100 sq.ft. per kW shadow free site should be available in the south direction on the roof.
